ABOUT THE INVITATIONAL
The basics:
· This will be an annual tournament to celebrate Mike and remember his spirit and friendships. Every year, it will also be a fundraiser for a local non-profit doing important work in the community in a manner that embodies Mike’s values of kindness, generosity, and respect for all and his commitment to creating opportunities for others to succeed.
· The tournament format is a scramble. 36 teams of 4 players. Shotgun start on the morning of April 5.
· The price for each foursome is $1,600 .
· Each golfer will receive:
o a Mike Maraist Memorial Invitational golf shirt from Motiér and other items in their ditty bag.
o Breakfast, on course food stations and awards reception after the round
o Two tickets (one for themselves and a +1) for the kick off party on April 4
o A chance to win a Jeep from Acadiana Dodge if they make a hole in one!

· Starts at 6:00 on April 4 at Le Triomphe
· Band is Louisiana Red
· This is a down-home, fun, Mike party; not a gala! Think crawfish and cowboy boots, not caviar and sequins.
· Not a golfer, but want to share in our tribute? Join us for the Kickoff party only! - Tickets $100, limited availability
Who is this fundraiser going to benefit:
· The fundraiser benefits Love Our Schools, a 501(c)(3) that supports public schools in Lafayette Parish
· What makes Love Our Schools so special and fit the mission of the Maraist Family Foundation is the fact that it takes a community centered approach to enhancing educational outcomes.
· There are 3 strategic areas of focus for Love Our Schools:
o Student empowerment, which the organization fuels through literacy tutoring, STEAM opportunities, and leadership workshops
o Community and parent engagement, which the organization fosters through unique Cafés. Cafés are monthly meetings of students, teachers, staff, and community leaders such as local pastors, law enforcement, or other representatives who gather together to identify areas of need and to collaborate on solutions
o Classroom and teacher support, which the organization provides by earmarking funding for teacher development and funding classroom resources.

What kinds of money do you take?
· Credit card, check, paypal.
· Checks are preferred because there are no fees.
· You will receive a gift receipt as a charitable contribution to a 501(c)(3)
